孤懸於宜蘭東方海域，因外貌酷似浮龜而得名，四月至十月適合賞鯨豚、登龜山島。島嶼面積60公頃，東西長3.3公里，寬1.7公里，是由兩座火山體噴發組成的龜頭和龜甲，龜尾部分有一片細沙州，隨著海水漲潮漲落，就好像烏龜在搖擺尾巴。
Turtle Island (Gueishan Island) is located in the open sea east of Yilan and is named after the shape of turtle. It has an area of 60 hectare, length of 3.3 km, and width of 1.7 km, with the best time for whale watching and island ascending from April to November. Two active volcanoes form the turtle’s head and shell, and turtle’s tail is a long and thin sand bar. Following the circulation of tide, the island looks similar to a turtle wagging its tail. |
